frog and lily. early afternoon, after classes. twilight. When did it start getting dark so early? Apparently she'd missed this change of schedule for the sun under her pile of books and homework. She couldn't remember the last time she'd been outside just to be outside. Lily was always rushing from class to class, darting here and there, taking weird routes to avoid certain people, and sometimes just people in general. The twinkling stars in the distance, pricking up in the lavender sky had caught her attention after Divination this afternoon though, and she stood in the courtyard, head tipped back, a smile on her lips. It was bitter out today, too, and the redhead couldn't feel her nose already, but she didn't seem to notice as she stood, clutching her books to her chest, the gold and maroon striped scarf dangling from her neck.

Ger was pretty sure the main flaw of Hogwarts had to be the weather, from almost the first day classes start until they got out for summer break, it was cold and gusty. Not that it's a shock really, it is Scotland, after all, but it definitely puts a damper into enjoying the fall, considering how early the sun sets these days, and how the chill keeps becoming more so. The kind of cold that sinks right in through your heavy wool clothes and settles in your bones until you can curl up in front of a fire.
It's a chill twilight, but the sky is lit with beautiful colors, rich red and orange from the sunset, fading out to pink and purple and blue as the sun starts to drop out of sight. Can't argue with the scenery around here, the campus is beautiful, even if it is bloody cold. Ger is heading back toward the castle through the courtyard on his walk back from the greenhouses. Not many people know it, but he's been helping Sprout care for the plants for the younger years classes for a while, and he's good at it. He blames it on the fairy blood, but it's nice to just be good at something, to be sort of special, especially in a school of stand-outs like Hogwarts.
He grins as he looks up, keen eyes catching sight on a familiar head of red hair and he went over to her, grinned at how out of it she seemed to be, lost in her own thoughts while she admired the sky. He grinned at her, waving his hand across her gaze. "If it isn't my favorite Lioness." He told her with a grin. He plucked up the dangling end of her scarf, carefully wrapping it so it was covering her neck, hopefully doing more to keep her warm. "Bundle up, we can't have you shirking prefect duties cause your sick can we?" He asked her teasingly, a little glint of playfulness in his eyes. "Merlin knows curbing the Marauders is a full time job, no sick days for you." He told her easily, not that he didn't get into a bit of trouble on his own but, Ger looked like a perfect student compared to some of the other Gryffindor boys.

Seeing fingers flitting across her daze, Lily snapped out of it, blinking a few times before a giggle spilled out. "One of my favorite lions," she grinned, laughing again when he fixed the scarf about her neck. Pulling her glove covered fingers out of the sleeves of her robe, she reached up and finished knotting and tucking the yarn while smiling back at Frog. "Have to include Remus," she explained, the two boys her best male friends at school. And she knew Frog understood. There was Ollie, too, but he didn't have any badgers to compete with.
"No sick days, that's for sure," she agreed, reaching over to ruffle his blond hair fondly. "Black and Potter keep me busy... oh," she sighed, blushing ten shades of red. "I didn't mean... damn. I didn't... you know what I mean," she mumbled, chewing her lip as she smiled back at Frog. "Though don't think you're innocent though, Mr. Ribet. You little imp." The red head giggled again and pinched his cheek playfully.

"I'd better be one of your favorites, you know you love me." Ger told her, smiling big and playful at her, Lily was very cool, easy to talk to and even though she was a prefect she looked the other way on certain minor rule breaking, generally speaking, she was one badass girl and all the Gryffindors knew it. Hell, even that slimy Slytherin Snape liked her, so, obviously it was impossible to dislike Lily, in his opinion. "And of course, Remmie too." He said, smiling at the mention of the other boy, definitely another person he counted amongst his friends, also very helpful when his History of Magic notes for certain classes consisted of doodles and dried wet spots from falling asleep and drooling on his parchment.
He couldn't help the laugh that bubbled out of him as Lily ruffled up his blond hair, making the mess of it just that little bit more messy. He shrugged at her apologies though. "It's fine, I knew what you meant." He said easily, though he scrunched his face up, laughing again as Lily pinched fondly at his cheek, like a Aunt with a favorite nephew or something. "Oui, careful, I bruise like a peach." He told her, sticking his little tongue out. He mock gasped at that last bit, putting on a show of looking truly offended, though Lily definitely had a point with him being a bit of a troublemaker, he just didn't get caught as often as certain other boys in his year that he could mention. "Imp?" He asked her. "Why Miss Evans...I don't have a clue what you're trying to imply but I think I ought to be offended." He said smirking.
