"Try convincing him of that. He's convinced he's meant to get one. Bloody idiot," he said with a fond shake of his head. Remus knew he wouldn't be able to stop him from getting the two-wheeled death machine though. He would however be able to help him if he ever did, because Sirius seemed determined to make the bloody thing fly, and if that was happening, Remus was spelling it himself so he could be sure that Sirius wouldn't drop from the sky without warning.
He shrugged and shook his head, patting her hand. "It's a comical image, for sure," Remus murmured. He looked over at Lily, tilting his head a bit. "I know you would, love. Your letters help a bit, before the moon. The wolf... Moony likes you." His lips quirked up in a small smile, the beast in his head currently laying docilely in his head thanks to Lily being there and the chocolate in his belly.

The red head grinned back at Remus as he mentioned Moony, and she pictured a little wolf pup prancing about inside of Remmie's head, tongue lolling out. It was adorable and a much better way to picture this little furry problem, as the boys called it. Moony just wanted to play, that was all. She squeezed his hand again, giggling softly and tucked the sheet of hair back. "Well, I like him, too. Most of the time. When he's nice to you," she told him, hand reaching up to ruffle through his hair, as if petting the pup.
"Where are those other chuckle heads anyway?" she asked curiously, wondering why she hadn't been graced by Potter's presence yet this evening. She glanced over her shoulder as if the mention of him would make him suddenly appear, or give him permission to at least.

Even though Moony sounded like a cute little puppy sort of name, the real creature was anything but a docile house pet. He was a brutal, vicious thing who would rather tear his human to bits than live in his head. But still, he smiled a little, leaning into the hand in his hair in a very canine sort of way. "He's been... better lately. He likes being at Hogwarts better. It smells like home," Remus murmured softly. Surrounded by the smells of his packmates and his friends, the familiar chill of the Forest... the wolf was much more at ease than when he was stuck in the basement of their home in France where it smelled like anger and wolf and fear.
"They're at Quidditch. Peter's gone to fetch hot chocolate for them... I imagine he's either trying to find his way back or stuffing his face with sweets from the kitchen about now," he chuckled. "Don't worry, you have at least another half hour before James and Sirius come 'round. Which means we need to eat more chocolate so they won't bother you when they come in," Remus told her with a grin, grabbing another little box of malted milk balls.

Hearing Remus's answer, Lily exhaled, realizing she'd been holding her breath and sunk back into the couch. A relieved smile hung on her lips as she snatched up another piece of chocolate and tore the wrapping off. "Good," she murmured, green eyes darting up to meet his. It wasn't that she hated James. Far from hate actually. She thought he could be a fairly decent human being when he wanted to be. He was just... so annoying. And arrogant. That's really what did him in.
"Chocolate will make them not bother me?" she asked, giggling softly as she shifted slightly, the warm fire crackling and snapping, flickers of light and shadow dancing together across the young Gryffindor's faces. "How's Sirius, anyway?" she asked, an afterthought that brought a warmer smile to her face, knowing the special place the reckless lion had in Remmie's heart.

He couldn't fault Lily for being relieved that James and company weren't around. All his mate did was try and get her attention, resorting to ridiculous means most of the time. Remus knew James wasn't trying to look like an idiot, but that was how he came across. He wasn't deliberately trying to annoy Lily. It just worked out that way. However, his wolf crooned in distress, wondering where their mate had gone and when he would be back. Bloody beast. It didn't understand the concept of unrequited love, which was rather unfortunate, especially when Sirius was smelling particularly lovely and hugging him close.
"Not having chocolate will make them bother you less, because they won't be begging for any," he explained rather thickly, around the mouthful of chocolate in his mouth. His mother would be appalled at his manners, but Lily knew him better than to judge. He was a boy, after all, and sometimes he did gross things. Remus swallowed hard and felt a light flush springing onto his cheeks, thoughts of the other Gryffindor boy flitting through his mind. "He's... he's good. I think he's dating some Ravenclaw girl this week," he murmured, tone soft and disappointed, poking at the malted milk balls left in the package on his lap.

"Excellent point," Lily murmured, nodding as she licked her finger clean of chocolate. She'd stash away the rest of the sweets before the boys returned - problem solved. Right? One would hope. Potter would never make it that easy though. The redhead blinked a few times when Remus mentioned what Sirius was up to before rolling her eyes, scoffing. "Course he is. Boy's a bloody casanova, isn't he?" she murmured, voice dripping with sarcasm, a fond smile on her lips. "He'll come around," she added, softer this time as she nudged his knee with her own.
