1. This is a 15+ RP. There will be mature content. Please do not apply if you are not at least sixteen years of age.
2. Remember your manners, please. Keep the drama to the characters. If you have a problem with another member, keep it off the board. No one is here to babysit you. If there's a serious problem, contact an admin.
3. NO ONE LINERS. In fact, no two or three liners. Full paragraph, at the very minimum (that's five or six sentences). Definitely not asking for a novel, but one - two paragraphs is a decent post. Not every little detail needs to be described, but react and give something for someone to react to.
4. This RP is rated M for mature. There will be sex, substances, violence, cursing... of course, this is not a brothel and it is not a scummy pub. Use tact, be appropriate. Put a warning on your threads if someone's getting lucky.
5. Things like pregnancy, deaths, and weddings should be run by an admin before it happens. Also, a character cannot kill another character without permission from both the player of said soon-to-be-dead character and the admins. We’re not here to control relationships, but a pregnancy for the hell of it isn’t cool. Just make sure it’s valid and goes with the plot.
6. Need I say, no god-modding (controlling another person's character)? Example - “Julie punched Claire in the face and sent her flying.” No good. “Julie made a fist and threw it at Claire, hoping to send her onto her ass.” Better.
7. When registering, register with your character's first and last name, all lower case letters.
8. When posting, feel free to title threads creatively (I like song lyrics, something clever, etc). If you're starting a thread, tag someone in your first post, not in the title of the thread. The secret phrase is 'lumos maxima'. You can put a little description of setting, some fitting song lyrics, whatever. Please don't post any artwork inside a post. Avatars and sigs are fine, but pictures and other things in a post, not necessary. Nor is a recap or a word count or any extra bows and whistles.
9. Speaking of avatars and sigs, the board won't let you have avvies bigger than 100x100. And sigs, you know. Keep it reasonable. Mine tend to be 500x200. But anywhere around there is fine. Try not to stretch the board.
10. Have fun. Be creative. Make friends.
11. We're not all experts here. If you need to fudge a spell or whatever, feel free. There is a Harry Potter wiki with loads of information and there are sites with British slang if you're interested in those, too. If you're a fanatic who has this all memorized, please don't criticize those of us who don't. We're here to write and have fun.
